Shoptomydoor Bags Award for the Most Reliable Logistics Company of the Year

Shoptomydoor.com has been awarded the Most Reliable Logistics Company of the Year at the annual awards by the Pan African International Magazine in Accra, Ghana.

The organizers say that this award is coming at a time when logistics companies have failed in so many areas. According to the organizers, Shoptomydoor  was given the most reliable shipping company in Nigeria based on experiences of people.

The theme: Driving Growth and Sustainable Economic Development through Good Governance – Improving Structures and Policies in Africa.

The CEO/MD, Nduka Udeh speaking at the 7th annual award says, “The government should leave the business of running corporations in the hands of citizens as done by China and other developed countries. Looking at Africa, and Nigeria especially small business enterprise is the future. Focusing on huge capital-intensive projects are not productive, past projects and their results have proven that. So, we need to break these large projects into smaller bits to achieve growth.

“Hence, we continue to see a collapse in industrialization not only in Nigeria, but other African countries who had long gotten independence before Hong Kong. In the logistics sectors, from experience the policies put in place were not developed to support the small business only the large corporations.”

Recommendations by Shoptomydoor CEO

He advises that African countries are better managing smaller entities than large corporations.

Nduka Udeh further recommends the review of more policies in Nigeria, including Export to support grow and industrialization. Highlighting some of the challenges that are being experienced by small and medium enterprises in Nigeria. Ranging from the duplication of offices to the distance you have to cover to get approval.

“It’s is not necessary for a small exporter to travel from one state to another for documentation or clearance. The government can show support by having all required parties set up in  each state and in one building. For maximum utilization of AGOA, the right strategies has to be established.

“Unfortunately, small businesses are left with very short period to compete with global suppliers. Also that discourage investors wanting to do business with Nigerians. Meeting deadlines and standard/quality is a big problem that must be addressed.”

Giving a practical example of a US based business tycoon who tried exporting yams from Nigeria. The entire process took him three weeks to get clearance, a lot of time wasted on bad road to the port. Eventually yams arrived the US port rotten. With the strict laws guiding import into the US, the entire container was burnt down with the owner bearing that cost, as well as losing capital invested in that full container load.”
